You’ll choose four courses from our Master of Engineering Project Management program to ensure your graduate certificate is tailored to your interests and career goals. Our curriculum has been designed in consultation with industry professionals to ensure your new skillset will meet the demand of today’s collaborative, tech-driven environment.

This course will prepare you as practising engineer to project manage the development of solutions in the workplace. You will be introduced to engineering project management theory, considering issues and challenges throughout a project life cycle. You will consider the project responsibilities of engineering managers and organisations, from the definition phase of a project to its conclusion. The emphasis is interdisciplinary and relevant to all fields of engineering practice.

This course covers the preparation of engineering contracts to deliver and procure engineering outcomes. Students will develop a knowledge of market analysis, tenders and work breakdown structure. Engineers in every field will have to work with engineering contracts in their career thus the content of this course will be directly applicable to everyone.

In this course, students will explore the principles and develop the distinct technical skills of engineering project management that are needed to undertake and successfully implement a project.

This course is designed to enable you to develop and demonstrate advanced teamwork, design and analysis skills. A topical and challenging project will be selected from a larger pool of proposals by each of the teams of multi-disciplinary engineers. The course will simulate an engineering working environment with teams reporting progress at regular intervals to the course coordinator, who will assume the role of project manager.

This course explores the concept of risk, how it is assessed and managed with a particular emphasis on how to mitigate risks in a project management setting.

This course provides students with the insights, knowledge and skills necessary for providing professional engineering input into resource and quality management programs in an business environment. It covers project governance, quality control and assurance and organisational planning. The best practices for resource management and staff acquisition will be explored.

Just four extra courses to complete your masters

If you decide to pursue UniSC’s Master of Engineering Project Managment program, after completing the graduate certificate, you may transfer your graduate certificate credits to the masters program. This means you only need to complete four more courses to earn your masters degree, which you can do on a part-time or full-time basis.
